What to expect

Latching on at the Climb Base below the Bradfield Highway, you will walk below the road-deck until you reach the South-East Pylon. There you will go up four ladders to the start of the upper arch. With the Summit in your sight, your journey continues along the Bridge’s upper arch on the Opera House side until you hit the top. After a Summit celebration with your group, you will cross to the west-side to make your descent to Climb Base.

FAQ

CAN SENIORS CLIMB?
Yes. Anyone who can sustain moderate physical exertion up to 3.5 hours over 1.75km should find the BridgeClimb exhilarating. If you’re 75 years of age, or over, you can climb with a Certificate of Fitness signed by your GP. Please, download this form from our website and bring it with you on the day. Our oldest climber, Mrs Chris Muller, reached the summit at 100 years old.

HOW LONG WILL MY CLIMB TAKE?
Our Climb times range from 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on the Climb type you choose. We ask that Climbers allow a 15 minute provision to collect photos and depart. This applies to all Climbs.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REACH THE TOP OF THE BRIDGE FROM THE TIME OF CHECK-IN?
It takes approximately 2 hours to reach the Summit. This includes time to suit-up and complete your pre-climb safety preparation. The descent takes about an hour.
