The best time to visit Kununurra is during the dry season, which runs from May to September. During these months, the weather is ideal for outdoor exploration, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 35°C (68°F to 95°F). This is also the best time to experience the region’s many events and festivals, such as the Ord Valley Muster, which celebrates Kimberley culture, food, and music.
The wet season, from October to April, brings high temperatures and heavy rains, with temperatures often reaching 40°C (104°F) or higher. The monsoon rains can cause flooding, making many of the region’s roads and attractions inaccessible.
