Alternatively, Orpheus provides the perfect backdrop for a more private interlude if guests wish to simply relax and succumb to a unique indigenous-inspired treatment at the Gwandalan Day Spa.

Accommodation rates include all gourmet meals, a selection of quality wines, beers and soft drinks, all-inclusive mini bar and gourmet snacks, a daily curated Orpheus experience (local snorkel, sunset cruise, guided hike, cocktail class, low tide walk, wine tasting, and whale watching (when in season)), and unlimited use of motorised dinghies, paddle boards, kayaks, catamaran, snorkelling equipment and light fishing gear. With a beautiful balance between contemporary and laid-back luxe island aesthetic, the beautifully appointed South Suites offer a secluded sanctuary best suited to couples and honeymooners!

The suites feature an enclosed terrace surrounded by lush tropical gardens overlooking the Coral Sea, a restful colour palette, an airy open plan bedroom and lounge, stylish décor, and a double vanity bathroom that opens onto an idyllic private courtyard with a deep freestanding bathtub. The three Rainforest Bayans are set closer to the rainforest floor amidst the ancient emerald vines and offer an ideal retreat for those seeking solitude or a romantic escape. Featuring a freestanding black bathtub on a private enclosed balcony overlooking the kaleidoscope of unique flora and fauna, the Rainforest Bayans allow guests to surrender to the soothing rainforest and sounds of the jungle with luxe creature comforts.

The lodge accommodates just 20 guests in spacious guest retreats that complement the landscape and offer a luxurious and charming take on pastoral living.

The Outback Suite, with its adjoining lounge room, is ideal for those looking for additional space to unwind in. The lounge is spacious, with a cosy wood-burning fire place, buttery tan leather furniture, and private deck with rounded outdoor dining table offering captivating views of the sparkling weir and the imposing ridges of Mount Mulligan.

The spacious Outback Suite is contemporary and luxurious; yet retains a raw external charm with its spotted gum timber cladding, pitched cathedral ceiling and deep verandah. Inside, the earthy-tones of the fine linen, sisal rug, and dark green wall panelling give a rich sense of place, mirroring the colours found in the outback environment outside. With its dark grey natural stone tiles and bronze fittings, the ensuite bathroom is both luxurious and calming. On your private verandah, a corrugated iron water tank has been re-purposed as a deep outdoor bath, orientated to capture uninterrupted views of the Australian outback.





Accommodating just 28 people, Orpheus is an all-inclusive, private island lodge located in the Great Barrier Reef.   • Domestic flight between Townsville and Cairns at an additional charge and to be booked by trade partner or guest after transfers have been booked by Northern Escape Collection Reservations. Alternatively, a private helicopter transfer can connect all three lodges at an additional charge and to be booked with Northern Escape Collection Reservations.
  • At the time of setting trade contracts, the domestic flight schedule between Townsville and Cairns was at a reduced capacity (due to COVID-19), therefore at the time of booking please consult with your agent on best connections to piece together this itinerary.
