You will visit the Litchfield National Park Tour, where you will have the opportunity to journey through some of Australia’s most diverse landscapes, sandstone pillars, panoramic floodplain views, picturesque waterfalls, and the bustling plant and animal life. There are several bushland walking tracks with the best lookout views the Litchfield National Park has to offer.

On this tour you will:

The next 2 days will be filled with awe inspiring experiences including – Visit to Kakadu National Park.  Take a Yellow Water Billabong Cruise.  Marvel at Aboriginal Rock Art & Culture.  Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre and take a Cultural Cruise with an Aboriginal Guide.

The next day you will see Katherine Gorge in all of her beauty.

Katherine Gorge is located within amazing Nitmiluk National Park, which spans more than 292,000 hectares. With rugged landscapes, thundering waterfalls and unlimited flora and fauna, Nitmiluk is a haven for adventurers and nature lovers alike. The name Nitmiluk, meaning ‘Cicada Place’, came from the Jawoyn people who are the traditional custodians of the Park.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive at The Adina Waterfront hotel and settle in for the afternoon or go for a stroll along the waterfront or into town.

Adina Apartment Hotel Darwin Waterfront is perfectly positioned amongst waterside restaurants and the family friendly wave pool and lagoon on Darwin’s seafront promenade. It is only a stone’s throw away from the Darwin Convention Centre and within walking distance of the CBD.

Day 2

This morning you will be heading off to Litchfield National Park.

Just over an hours drive from the city, we’ll leave Darwin and make our way towards the world class Litchfield National Park surrounded by thick pockets of tropical rainforest it offers cool respite from the top end heat.

Stopping along the way you’ll have an opportunity to jump on the famous Jumping Crocodile Cruise (optional extra) on the Adelaide River, alternatively we visit the Fogg Dam Conservation Centre. The traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people (who are active in the reserve’s management), one of the most spectacular places to explore the diverse wildlife of the top end, home to numerous species of birds, turtles, water pythons and of course the iconic Saltwater Crocodile.

We’ll visit some incredible monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds and then have an opportunity to cool off in one of Litchfield’s beautiful natural plunge pools like Buley Rockholes or Wangi Falls. Visit a thundering waterfall like Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls and marvel at the sheer beauty carved out amongst the rocky escarpment.

Fully relaxed and rejuvenated after a day in the stunning tropical national park we make our way back to Darwin.

 

Day 3

Today you will embark on the East Alligator Overnight Tour.

You will depart Darwin and travel through pristine wetland regions to Kakadu National Park, a 20,000 square kilometre suite of landscapes varying from red-hued escarpments that shelter historic Aboriginal rock art dating back thousands of years to floodplains teeming with wildlife.

Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre, then join your local guide on an award-winning cruise to experience the dramatic scenery of the Yellow Water Billabong. Keep an eye out for saltwater crocodiles, a diverse array of smaller wildlife, and the colourful range of birdlife for which this region is renowned.

Day 4

This morning you will join your Driver Guide to explore the World Heritage Area of Ubirr, where you’ll climb up through the ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries, believed to be 20,000 years old, to the lookout for a view over the surrounding wetlands. Join the Guluyambi Cruise on the East Alligator River. An Aboriginal guide will provide an insight into their culture, including local mythology, the river’s abundant food chain, as well as bush survival skills. With special permission of the local people, you can go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Marrawuddi Art Gallery before returning to Darwin, where your Short Break concludes.

You will check back into the Adina Waterfront Apartments and enjoy your evening in Darwin.

Day 5

Arrangements for any member of the party may be cancelled at any time by written notice by the person who made the booking.

Notice of cancellation must be made in writing directly to your Travel Agent.

If a person in a party cancels and there is a room change caused by this cancellation (such as a Twin/Double to Single, or Triple to Twin/Double), charges for the new room type will be the responsibility of the remaining party.

If a guest fails to join the holiday on the day of departure, cancellation fees will be 100% (unless the guest notifies us of the delay and joins the holiday later at their own expense).

Cancellation fees as per the Summary Booking and Cancellation table apply to additional accommodation and/or chargeable transfers prior to and after the holiday, itinerary extensions or cruise reserved through tour operator.

Cancellation fees and charges will include any amounts that we have paid or have contractually committed to pay to third parties to deliver your travel arrangements which we cannot reasonably recover (for example payments made or due to airlines and hotels). Any payments we have made to third parties will only be refunded to you once we have deducted the above cancellation fees and charges and once we have actually recovered the amounts from the third partie
